Delighted to see the official opening of Penistone 1 – New Gateway development!

I attended the opening of the new Penistone 1 development in Penistone today, 2nd April.

It was great to see all the effort and campaigning for something to be built to encourage more business to move into our town. Dransfields have provided a great new facility in our redeveloped town centre, which will bring more jobs to Penistone.

Jack Briggs has some good pictures on Pen Pictorial. Take a look here – http://www.penpictorial.co.uk/

Looks like BMBC are reconsidering the number of new houses for Penistone!

My thanks to This is Penistone for highlighting a possible change in attitude from BMBC regarding the long term planning for additional housing in Penistone Wards. I hope that our campaigning will lead to reduced housing long term plans. Any development must be sustainable and take into account our local infrastructure.
